Shems FM: Prime Minister vows to guarantee salaries and social security contributions of employees

The situation in the media sector, including the case of the confiscated radio station Shems FM, was the focus of a ministerial working session held on Monday at the Government Palace in the Kasbah and chaired by Prime Minister Ahmed Hachani.

In a press release, the Prime Ministry pledged to guarantee the salaries and social security of the staff of Radio Shems FM in accordance with the regulations and procedures in force, and called for radical solutions to their situation to be found as soon as possible.

In a joint statement issued on Thursday, September 22, the National Union of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT) and the basic union of Radio Shems FM said that the radio's staff - journalists and administrative and technical staff - had not received their salaries for three months.
