OIF: Tunisia takes initiative to include point in Yaoundé Final Declaration calling for end to targeting civilians

Tunisia, in its capacity as Chair of the Ministerial Conference of La Francophonie, held from November 3 to 4 in Yaoundé, took the initiative to include a point in the Yaoundé Final Declaration calling for an end to the targeting of civilians and the protection of human life, in light of the blatant violations targeting the Palestinian people. In the framework of his presidency of this 44th Ministerial Conference held under the theme of 'Good Governance: A Guarantee of Political, Economic and Cultural Stability for Francophone Citizens,' Nabil Ammar reminded of the key outcomes of the Djerba Francophonie Summit (November 2022), in particular the Declaration of Djerba and the adoption of the Francophonie strategic framework 2023-2030, as well as the regulations related to promoting peace and avoiding crises in the Francophone space. On the other hand, Nabil Ammar renewed his call to a number of member states of the International Organisation of the Francophonie to strengthen cooperation with other countries on the issue of the recovery of stolen funds and money laundering. He stressed the importance of this issue and its fundamental role in enhancing cooperation and trust between different countries and promoting good governance in the Francophone region, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He stressed the importance of good governance as one of the components of a fair democracy and one of the basic factors for economic development and social integration, and reviewed the Tunisian experience in the field of good governance and the Tunisian State's commitment to apply it at various levels of public affairs management. Tunisia is committed to combating corruption as one of the most prominent manifestations of good governance and one of the fundamental factors in strengthening democracy.
