Tunis hosts 27th Annual Conference of National Medical Ethics Committee

Health Minister Ali Mrabet stressed the need to encourage young doctors to stay in Tunisia so as to consolidate the health sector and improve the quality of services offered to Tunisian citizens. Taking the floor at the 27th Annual Conference of the National Medical Ethics Committee, held, Saturday, at the headquarters of the Tunisian Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts, Beït Al-Hikma in Carthage, the minister put emphasis on the need to address the issue of migration of medical and paramedical staff, reads a statement of the Health Ministry. He commended the efforts made by young doctors in various Tunisian hospitals and clinics across the country. The conference, which was held on the theme "Migration of Medical and Paramedical Staff: Ethical Issues", was attended by President of the National Medical Ethics Committee Skandar Mrad, Dean of the University of Medicine of Tunis Mohamed Jouini, President of the Council of the Order of Pharmacists Mustapha Laaroussi, a representative of the World Health Organization in Tunisia, members of the Association of Young Doctors as well as several professors and experts.
