Call to review legislations on rights of women with disabilities

Several experts in the field of women's rights, Wednesday, underlined that «many legislations and laws on the rights of women with disabilities must be reviewed» adding that «many of them are not even applied.» During their participation in a conference held by the National Observatory of Fighting Violence against Women in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund (the UNFPA Tunisia) on the theme of «The Reality and Challenges of Fighting Violence against Women with Disabilities," they reiterated that women with disabilities have not enough rights. Public Affairs Advisor at the Ministry of Justice, Najla Gara, put emphasis on the absence of a clear legal framework related to women with disabilities, pointing out that these are essentially legal provisions scattered between different laws, referring in particular to the law Basic Law No. 58 of 2017 and Basic Law No. 61 of 2016.
