Candidates for the run-off local elections in the Bou Assida constituency in the Sakiet Ezzit delegation (Sfax-1) Anis Kammoun (443 votes, i.e. 44.21% of the vote) and Abderrahmane Triki (238 votes, i.e. 23.75% of the vote), presented their electoral programmes ahead of the February 4 elections. Anis Kamoun pledged to work to revive the local market in the region, encourage the implementation of development projects and upgrade basic infrastructure. On the social front, he promised to endeavour to set up municipal kindergartens and a local structure to care for the elderly, pensioners, people with special needs and deprived families and to improve the quality of services at the region's health centre. For his part, candidate Abdelrahman Triki focused his election programme on modernising infrastructure, notably the widespread provision of public lighting, the connection of all areas of the imada to the sewage network, and the tarmacking of roads. He emphasised his intention to redevelop the railway line and surrounding areas to ensure the safety of pupils at the nearby high school. The candidate indicated that he would work to create a cultural and youth centre, continue to provide aid to disadvantaged categories and ensure the preservation of the environment.
