MEDENINE: An international air carrier with a significant volume of transactions in the tourism sector has launched a new flight to Djerba-Zarzis Airport, said Local Tourism Commissioner in Médenine, Hichem Mahouachi. The first flight of the air carrier landed, last Wednesday, in the Djerba-Zarzis Airport from Geneva Switzerland, with 159 passengers on board, Mahouachi told TAP on Friday. Two weekly flights will be scheduled until the end of October 2024 between Switzerland and Djerba-Zarzis Airport, the same source said. To promote the tourism sector in the region, 18 hotel units were opened with an accommodation capacity of more than 10,000 beds, bringing it to 33,000 beds, Mahouchi pointed out.
