The first phase of the national solidarity and humanitarian campaign in favor of the Palestinian people was completed, Sunday, in the governorate of Bizerte, on the initiative of the Tunisian Red Crescent. The campaign helped collect financial and material aid, including food, blankets, medicines and electric generators, for the Palestinian Red Crescent and the Palestinian people. Dorra Nafati, Secretary General of the Tunisian Red Crescent in Bizerte, said about 20 trucks left on Sunday for the Tunisian Red Crescent headquarters in Tunis, carrying about 20 tonnes of food, 30 tonnes of medicines, 2 tonnes of mattresses and 5 tonnes of blankets, as well as 26 electric generators and 500 units of paramedical equipment, including wheelchairs. The same source said the operation in the region would last about a month.
