EIF warns public against scammers

The Environmental Investment Fund of Namibia (EIF) has warned Namibians to be wary of a firm allegedly operating under the guise of ‘Namibian Mining News’.

This comes after the EIF was alerted by members of the public who were approached over the Easter weekend, which led the EIF to discover that there are individuals operating under an unauthorised and fictitious profile claiming to have 17 employees and a business office at 15 Veronica St, Ludwigsdorf, Windhoek.

In a press release issued on Tuesday, EIF stated that it has no affiliation or partnership with Namibian Mining News, and that any claim or representation made by it or any individual or entity claiming to be associated with the EIF is false and should be reported to the EIF’s Corporate Communications Department.

“The EIF firmly condemns any illegal activity that misrepresents its name or attempts to exploit the public. EIF remains committed to its purpose of promoting and supporting environmental conservation and sustainable development projects in Namibia,” the statement adds.

EIF also encourages the public to come out and report these illegal actions.
