Ibsar launches training programme on sexual and reproductive health education

The IBSAR for Culture and Leisure of Persons with Visual Impairment has launched since January a training programme on sexual and reproductive health education under the theme "Light the Paths" for 40 people with visual impairments. IBSAR President Mohamed Mansouri told TAP that the training programme, organised with the support of OXFAM, targets some 500 visually impaired people indirectly through translation into sign language and the publication of a guide to sexual and reproductive health in an accessible format. He also pointed out that this programme had started in January and will run until October, with five sessions in all. "Through this programme, the aim is also to train students, midwives and doctors in obstetrics and gynaecology in the best practices to adopt in order to guarantee the right of people with disabilities to quality care and access to information," he added. Mansouri underlined that one of the main objectives of this project is to draw up a guide on sexual and reproductive health for people with disabilities and for health professionals.
