Improving urban transport offer remains emergency issue (Transport Minister)

Transport Minister, Rabi Majidi, Tuesday, stressed the need to improve Tunisia's urban transport offer which remains «an emergency» issue for his department, and whose implementation «must be ensured very soon». Chairing a meeting with representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the minister added that the ecological aspect will be taken into account with regard to the renewal of the fleet. For each new batch of buses purchased, 25% will them will be electric, he pointed out. The meeting helped examine the funding of a series of infrastructure projects and restore some obsolete public sector equipment.
