“Investment in digitisation of education system needed to guarantee quality teaching” (Boughdiri)

Education Minister Mohamed Ali Boughdiri on Friday underlined the need to invest in the digitisation of the education system to guarantee quality teaching, according to a ministry press release. Chairing a study day on the theme: "Digital transformation in the education sector," organised by the Ministry of Education's Directorate General for Information Technology and Electronic Administration, Boughdiri said that the integration of digital technologies in various sectors has led to major changes, particularly in the education system, pointing out that digital technology had taken a new turn with the Covid-19 crisis. He therefore considered digital transformation to be a strategic priority project, given its role in developing teaching and learning curricula to bring them into line with modern education systems. Boughdiri reiterated Tunisia's commitment to fostering partnerships with the world's leading IT companies, such as Microsoft, "which has helped position Tunisia as a prime destination in digitisa tion and artificial intelligence sectors." Taking the floor, Director of Microsoft Tunis office Mohamed Bridaa underlined the importance of cooperation between the Tunisian government and Microsoft to help public administrations and the education, higher education and vocational training sectors make the most of employment and digitisation systems.
