Local elections – Tunis 1: Candidates in Ettayarane constituency pledge to revamp areas bordering Sebkhat Séjoumi

Developing and revamping Sebkhat Séjoumi is a joint electoral priority for candidates in the local elections for the Ettayarane neighbourhood constituency in the Ezzouhour delegation (Tunis 1), Abdeddayem Mhamdi, Abdessalem Ajina and Jamila Mensi. In statements to TAP, these candidates said that Sebkhat Séjoumi has the potential to house both an economic and entertainment centre, creating hundreds of job opportunities for the region's residents. Candidate Abdeddayem Mhamdi, headmaster of a secondary school, pointed out that the Local Councils will improve basic services for citizens. Mhamdi pledged to establish an industrial area on the outskirts of Séjoumi and an administrative centre with a fast rail network. He also promised to implement programmes to maintain schools and sports facilities, and to review joint projects between the public service and private companies. For his part, candidate Abdessalem Ajina, a journalist with a private radio station, promised to work to improve infrastructure in the region and to launch new projects to employ the region's young people. He also vowed to improve health services in the region and to adapt fees to the capacities of all categories of the Ettayarane social fabric. For her part, candidate Jamila Mensi promised to be the voice of the inhabitants of her region within the Ezzouhour Local Council. She underlined the need to provide a favourable climate for investment in the region by upgrading the infrastructure. Jamila Mensi, a civil servant at the Tunis Local Authority for Agricultural Development, pledged to convert Sebkhat Séjoumi into an entertainment area for the local population.
