"Tunisia's official stance is very honourable considering the reservation it expressed regarding Resolution No. 8987 adopted by the Arab League Council meeting in Cairo on October 11, 2023," said spokesperson for the Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT) Sami Tahri said on Saturday. The Palestinian cause is an issue rallying all political factions and all Tunisians, he told TAP. Tahri qualified Tunisia's official stance regarding the Palestinian cause as "courageous and patriotic," affirming the unwavering support of the Tunisian State and people to the Palestinian cause. He voiced in this regard, wish that the popular protests in support of Palestine will spread throughout the whole world, considering that popular pressure is necessary to denounce the daily crimes of the Zionist occupation in Gaza.. "It is high time that the Tunisian parliament, the government and the Presidency of the Republic draft a law criminalising normalisation with the Zionist entity so that Tunisia's position stands out from other political regimes, " he underlined.
