PM delivers speech at 37th African Union Summit, calls for African solutions to African problems

Prime Minister Ahmed Hachani, Saturday, delivered a speech on peace and security in Africa on the sidelines of the 37th African Union Summit. He congratulated, on behalf of Tunisia, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania on its election as the new Chairman of the African Union (AU) for 2024, reads a statement of the Prime Ministry statement released on Saturday. Hachani expressed Tunisia's keeness to address, during and after its membership in the Peace and Security Council (2022/2024), the current security challenges facing the African continent. He stressed the need to adopt a participatory and multidimensional approach to as to follow the latest developments in peace and security issues, considering "African solutions to African problems" as the key to achieving the goal of "Silencing the Guns" by 2030. The Prime Minister also expressed Tunisia's solidarity with Libya and called for finding an inter-Libyan solution and holding a comprehensive dialogue which would bring together various Libyan factions away from any foreign intervention.
