President Kais Saied stresses need to redouble efforts to ensure that law prevails as he meets Interior Minister

Tunis: President Kaïs Saïd stressed the need to redouble efforts to ensure that the law prevails, "especially at this time when there are overt attempts to inflame the social situation in various ways, in addition to the lobbies involved in the electoral process behind the scenes in the last few days." He made the remarks during a meeting with Interior Minister Khaled Nouri and Secretary of State to the Minister of the Interior in charge of National Security Sofiene Bessadok at Carthage Palace on Wednesday afternoon, according to a statement from the presidency. The Head of State also stressed the need to increase security, particularly in the cities of Jbeniana and El Amra. "Tunisia's treatment of irregular migrants is based primarily on humanitarian values, but it cannot allow anyone to terrorise citizens under any pretext," the President of the Republic was quoted as saying in the same statement.
