Two candidates in the governorate of Siliana, Youssef Bargaoui for the Tarf Chne (Bouarada) constituency and Jamel Abidi for the South Siliana constituency, kicked off their election campaigns for local councils. Speaking directly to citizens to explain his electoral programme, candidate Youssef Bargaoui told TAP's correspondent that his programme focuses notably on upgrading agricultural tracks and encouraging factories to hire young people in order to increase employability. He also promised to support the agricultural sector, overhaul the production system and promote scientific research, while ensuring citizens' right to health and a decent life. Candidate Jamel Abidi in turn presented his electoral programme in a direct exchange with the citizens. He indicated that he will endeavour would be working to speed up the upgrading of infrastructure in the Mizouni and Ramsis housing estates (roads, maintenance of public buildings, sewerage, etc.), which he said are in a dilapidated state. He also promised to provide the regional hospital with a scanner, find a radical solution to the waste from the hospital and abattoir and to the unregulated stalls on the road to the weekly market.
