Taekwondo – African Games 2024: Tunisia scoop three more gold medals

TUNIS: Tunisian athletes on Friday scooped three more gold, three silver and six bronze medals on day 19 of the African Games, hosted by Accra, Ghana. The gold medals were won in the taekwondo events (poomsae speciality) by Imène Akermi (-30 years), Yasmine Zekri (-40 years) and the Tunisian women's team (-30 years). The silver medals went to pugilists Wafa Hafsi (48 kg), Molka Ben Mabrouk (75 kg) and the men's team (poomsae -30 years) in taekwondo. The bronze medals were earned by boxers Chadha Jelassi (52 kg), Khouloud Hlimi (57 kg), Azza Nahdi (60 kg), Eya Ben Zina (70 kg), Zakaria Romdhani (67 kg) and taekwondo player Foued Ben Derouiche (poomsae +17). With one day to go before the end of the Games, Tunisia still 5th in the medals count, with a total of 21 gold, 26 silver and 33 bronze medals. Source: Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
