Tunis: The 1st National Vocational Training Forum will be organised by the Ministry of Employment and Vocational Training on May 21-22, at the City of Culture in Tunis. The event aims to promote vocational training as an essential vector for economic growth. Under the theme: "Harnessing Vocational Training for Employability and Entrepreneurship," the forum seeks to highlight the prospects and opportunities offered by vocational training in terms of employment and economic development. By bringing together key players from the public and private sectors, civil society and technical and financial partners, this strategic event aims to achieve the following objectives: Promote vocational training and the career opportunities it offers, particularly among young Tunisians; enhance collaboration and partnerships between the economic fabric and public and private vocational training institutions to increase the employability of graduates; and raise public awareness of the importance of vocational training in the context of ecological transition, digitalisation and artificial intelligence. The Forum will feature interactive panels bringing together experts, government representatives, business leaders and young talent to debate the strategic challenges facing vocational training in Tunisia. Among the key themes to be addressed are the changing job market and the need for trades and skills in the context of the energy and ecological transition, public-private partnerships to boost the effectiveness of training programmes, the encouragement of entrepreneurship and digitalisation in vocational training. At the same time, a career fair will provide a unique platform for some fifty vocational training learners to represent more than 20 promising careers and specialities. Young people will also have the opportunity to attend workshops hosted by professionals, to learn more about vocational training opportunities and the realities of the job market, and to equip themselves with soft-skills for employability. Besides, a space will be reserved for professionals from the training system and their partners for meetings on two topical themes: "Circular migration and mobility partnerships" and "Vocational guidance for young people."
