A conference on water scarcity and ways to rationalize its consumption in Tunisia, was held on Saturday in Tunis. Participants had discussions on ways to achieve food security amid the water crisis in the country, highlighting the major role of the fourth estate and the civil society in backing the State's efforts in raising public awareness about the rational use of water. Secretary of State to the Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries, Ridha Gabouj, underlined the ongoing awareness campaigns on how to use water wisely and the significant role of the various stakeholders to achieve the State's expected goals in this field. Gabouj expressed his department's willingness to share ideas and proposals according to a participatory and transparent approach. The conference is part of the recommendations of the Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries, issued in the working session held on November 4, which focused on good governance of water resources, reads a statement of the min istry.
