Tunisia-UNDP: Security reform under review

Interior Minister Kamel Feki had a meeting, Tuesday, in Tunis, with Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Tunisia, Céline Moyroud. Boosting cooperation between Tunisia and the UN program as well as strategic partnership between the two parties were discussed during the meeting, reads a press release of the Interior Ministry. The meeting also shed light on developing cooperation in the field of security reform. The minister expressed his department's commitment to introducing security reforms under international standards. Both parties stressed the need to generalize the experience of community policing in all governorates so as to build a climate of trust between citizens and the security apparatus. Also, emphasis was also laid on the need to speed up the implementation of the activities planned by the document for the fourth phase of the 2023-2027 cooperation project. Furthermore, cooperation in the field of local development between the Tunisian government and th e UNDP for the period 2023-2027 was on the agenda of the meeting.
