Presidential decrees pertaining to three loan agreements on funding the State budget, support for the grain sector and the construction of classified roads were published in the Official Gazette of the Tunisian Republic in its August 16 issue.
They had been adopted by the Assembly of People's Representatives (ARP).
Decree no. 2023-559 of August 15, 2023 provides for the ratification of a $400 million loan agreement signed in Tunis on July 20, 2023 by Tunisia and Saudi Arabia to fund the budget.
The second decree, no. 2023-560 of August 15, 2023, ratifies a $87.1 million loan agreement signed in Tunis on July 19, 2023 by the Republic of Tunisia and the African Development Bank.
The funding is designed to help finance a project to support the grain sector's inclusive and sustainable development.
The last decree, no. 2023-561 of August 15, 2023, provides for the ratification of a loan agreement concluded in Rabat on April 29, 2023 by the Republic of Tunisia and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development.
The 16 million Kuwaiti dinars in funding will help finance a project to build and upgrade classified roads.
