The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation (ALECSO), in partnership with the Tunisian Ministry of Education, on Monday kicked off the inaugural Arab Championship of Mathematics and Logic Games, which will run for three days with the participation of ten countries: Jordan, Tunisia, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Libya, Morocco and Mauritania. The aim of this championship is to encourage individuals and institutions to contribute to improving education in order to produce educated Arab generations with the intellectual and scientific skills to help their societies progress in various fields, explained education specialist and programme and projects coordinator at ALECSO Hachemi Ardhaoui. Opening the championship, he said that ALECSO lends a particular interest to the 4th goal of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, which is to Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all ALECSO is seeking to contribute to the effor ts of Arab countries to develop education systems, improve their performance and enhance their competitive advantages, so that they can provide students with high-level knowledge and skills that will help them fully assume their roles in their societies, he said.
