17th Carthage Insurance and Reinsurance RDV May 19-22 in Tunis

Tunis: The Tunisian Federation of Insurance Companies (FTUSA) is organising the 17th Carthage Insurance and Reinsurance RDV from May 19 to 22 on the theme of "The insurance industry and the challenges of artificial intelligence (AI)". The choice of this theme reflects the conviction of insurance professionals in Tunisia of the importance of advanced technologies in the development of this activity and in the improvement of its services for the benefit of customers and the various stakeholders, Hatem Aamira, Director General of FTUSA, said in a statement to TAP. Aamira stressed that the forum's work will focus on the challenges posed to the insurance sector by artificial intelligence (AI), explaining that the insurance sector has long been based on risk assessment and decision-making based on financial and statistical information. In this respect, the adoption of artificial intelligence in many sectors has brought benefits in terms of improving the efficiency of operations, including risk management in the insurance sector. Aamira said the organisers aim to make the new edition of the Carthage Insurance and Reinsurance RDV an opportunity to study the role of artificial intelligence, particularly in protecting and enhancing the role of this sector in the light of technological and digital developments. The first day of the meeting will focus on raising awareness of the importance of artificial intelligence in the development of the insurance sector. The second day of the Forum will focus on the role of AI in proposing an insurance product tailored to the customer's needs, as well as the importance of AI in improving compensation and combating fraud in the sector. As part of this event, a 'hackaton' on the development of an AI-based insurance system will be organised for the benefit of young AI professionals. FTUSA will award cash prizes to the winners and provide them with guidance and support in the implementation of their projects.
