Tunis: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Nabil Ammar took part on June 2, 2024, in the first Korea-Africa Summit Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Seoul. Addressing the meeting, Ammar welcomed the Korean initiative which will likely upgrade African-Korean relations to a partnership based on the principle of equality, solidarity and Africa's control of its own choices in order to achieve joint prosperity, according to a Foreign Department press release on Monday. The FM pointed out the need to give the human dimension and human resources the importance they deserve as a key pillar of the sought-after partnership and investment, by encouraging exchanges and lifting barriers that hinder exchanges in higher education, culture, tourism and other fields of endeavour. Underlining the pivotal value of solidarity, the minister recalled Tunisia's firm position in support of the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to recover all their lands and establish a fully sovereign state with Al-Qu ds Al-Sharif as its capital, stressing that the Palestinian people are being subjected to genocide and ethnic cleansing, which the international community must stop. At the request of President Kais Saied, Prime Minister Ahmed Hachani is paying a working visit to the Republic of Korea on June 3-6. He is leading a Tunisian delegation to participate in the first Korea-Africa Summit held in Seoul, under the theme: "The Future We Make Together: Shared Growth, Sustainability and Solidarity."
