Qatar Charity (QC) has commissioned the Peace and Love Village in Kissi and an educational facility in Oyarifa to mark significant milestones in their ongoing mission to foster sustainable development across Ghana. The initiatives reflect their commitment to improving education, healthcare, and economic empowerment within local communities. The Peace and Love Village in Kissi is an integrated community that includes extensive educational, healthcare, religious, and economic facilities. The village features multiple educational structures, including two 6-classroom blocks (one newly built and one renovated), as well as two additional 3-classroom buildings, designed to provide ample space for students. A three-storey residential building has also been constructed to house students and orphans, offering them a safe and supportive living environment. To support the community's health needs, QC commissioned a 250m² clinic, which will be managed by the Ghana Health Service (GHS) and upgraded to a health center. Over 40 houses have been built to accommodate healthcare workers and educators, ensuring that the village's services are fully staffed and operational. The village is equipped with four boreholes, guaranteeing clean water access for all residents. Economic empowerment projects are a central focus of the Peace and Love Village. These initiatives include greenhouse farming, that promotes food security and sustainable agricultural practices. Other projects, such as tricycle services and a bakery, offer residents opportunities for income generation and self-reliance. A mosque with washrooms and ablution points, has been established to cater to the religious needs of the community, fostering spiritual well-being and cohesion. Qatar Charity inaugurated a three-classroom block at Oyarifa in the Greater Accra Region. The new educational facility aims to alleviate crowding and provide students with a conducive learning environment, aligning with QC's mission to improve education in underserved areas. Health Dir ector Martin Sumani Baaku expressed his gratitude for the healthcare facility at Kissi, highlighting the commitment of the Ghana Health Service to maintaining and expanding the clinic's services. The Peace and Love Village stands as a model of sustainable community building, with its comprehensive approach to addressing the educational, economic, religious, and healthcare needs of the people in Kissi in the Central region. This holistic development reflects Qatar Charity's broader mission to support Ghana's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ensuring that communities like Kissi and Oyarifa (Accra) have the tools and resources necessary to thrive.
