Rab Touching Lives Foundation (RTLF) in collaboration with Lost Talent Foundation (LTF), both entities dedicated to promoting peace, unity and community development has organised a peace walk in the Assin Fosu Municipality of the Central Region.
The event was organised to sensitise residents on the importance of maintaining peace ahead of the December polls.
The peace walk was on the theme: ‘Sustaining peace before, during and after elections’, and saw close to 500 enthusiastic crowd participating.
They carried placards that among others bore messages like ‘Peace is our priority’, ‘One Ghana, One People’, ‘Say no to violence’, were made up of representatives of political parties, community and traditional leaders, youth groups and security personnel and many others.
Addressing the gathering after the walk, Mr Richard Adjei Sarpong, project and programmes manager at RTLF emphasised the importance of peace in national development, saying the atmosphere of peace would continue to guide communities and inspi
re new era of development.
He urged the youth of political parties and the populace to remain committed to ensure a peaceful election.
Mr Sarpong said, as the nation prepared for the December polls, Assin Fosu stood as a shining example of peaceful co-existence, demonstrating that together, Ghana could build a prosperous and harmonious society.
