Western Region: President Akufo-Addo has described Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, as a hardworking and honest man with good policies to enhance Ghana's development. He emphasized Bawumia's proven selflessness, commitment, and faultlessness over the last 16 years in political and administrative roles, asserting that Ghana can be entrusted into his hands after his eight years of experience as Vice President. According to Ghana News Agency, the President made these remarks while addressing the Chiefs and people of the Western Region during a thank-you visit hosted at the GNAT Hall in Fijai. He expressed gratitude to the region's people for their continuous support during his tenure. In his address, President Akufo-Addo noted the constitutional provision limiting presidents to two terms and expressed his appreciation for the region's support in helping him govern and maintain peace in the country. President Akufo-Addo highlighted his administration's achievements, including ful filling 80 percent of his promises. He noted the significant impact of providing over 5.7 million Ghanaian children access to secondary education, emphasizing the importance of preparing the youth for participation in 21st-century activities to drive economic growth and holistic development. The President also detailed the region's benefits, such as the addition of 758 kilometers of road network, an increase in cocoa producer prices, the Agenda 111 hospital projects, market redevelopment, and the Interchange project.
