Ennahdha party leader Rached Ghannouchi started a hunger strike, on Monday, in the Mornaguia civil prison, as a sign of solidarity with all political opponents in detained in various Tunisian prisons. The hunger strikers are accused of «plotting against state security», reads a statement of an Ennahdha movement. Rached Ghannouchi urged Tunisians «cling to a democratic Tunisia which involves all citizens based on freedom, justice, the supremacy of the law and the independence of justice,» the same source adds. Six leaders of the National Salvation Front, some of them are detained in the Mornaguia prison, said that they also started a hunger strike last Monday. They are Secretary General of the Republican party, Issam Chebbi, resigned leader of the Ennahdha movement, Abdelhamid Jlassi, former president of the "Destourna" network, Jawhar Ben Mbarek, coordinator of the Tunisia First party Ridha Belhaj, former secretary general of the Democratic Current party, Ghazi Chaouachi , businessman and former leader of the Democratic Coalition for Work and Liberties party and Khayam Turki.
