Chief Barimah Okekrebesi Asiedu II Chief of Coaltar in the Ayensuano District of the Eastern Region on Friday commended Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panyin, Okyehene for the construction of a modern school block at La-Mangoase a farming community near Coaltar.
He gave the commendation during the commissioning of the model school block constructed by the Okyehene to bring basic education closer to the children of La-Mangoase and its environs and prevent them from travelling long distances to access education.
Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panyin said the construction of the block, which was done in collaboration with the Bank of Ghana was a long-term goal to help children in the district to have quality basic education, to have the strong foundation to become prominent people in the future and help develop the community.
He called on parents to restrain their wards from long hours of screen time and social media, but cultivate the habit of reading, and teachers to play their parts in impacting the lives of the children
positively through their tutelage for them to become successful in the future.
Mr. Alexander Narh Amanya, District Director of Education, Coaltar said the school was a beacon of hope for the district, bridging the gap in educational infrastructure and providing opportunities for holistic development.
He urged the students to take advantage of this opportunity. ‘Strive for excellence, be innovative, and push boundaries. Remember that education is the key to unlocking your potential and shaping your destiny.’
Mr Amanya charged teachers and staff with the responsibility of nurturing and guiding the future leaders. To create an environment that inspires curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.
He expressed appreciation to the Okyehene for his selfless contribution to the community. ‘Your legacy will live on through the countless lives that will be transformed within these walls. Your commitment to education is a shining example of corporate social responsibility and community engagement.’

nkoom, District Chief Executive, Ayensuano said the education directorate would ensure that the school was well staffed with qualified teachers and help in undertaking innovative activities that would make the school competitive.
The Directorate will also undertake regular monitoring in the school to ensure that educational goals are achieved.
