The investigating judge of the Judicial Anti-Terrorism Division has issued a committal order for former Interior Ministry official Mehrez Zouari in the case of conspiracy against state security, division spokesperson Hanen Gaddes told TAP on Tuesday. The judicial authorities continue to investigate this case, which includes politicians, businessmen and activists, a number of whom have seen orders of committal issued for them in February 2022 including head of the Ennahda movement, Rached Ghannouchi, Secretary General of Al Joumhouri Party, Issam Chebbi and former Secretary General of the Democratic Current (Attayar) party, Ghazi Chaouachi. She added that Zouari was arrested and appeared before the investigating judge, who questioned him and issued a detention order. Zouari served as director of specialised services at the Ministry of Interior during the rule of the Ennahdha-led troika, and the investigating judge had previously issued a committal order for him in 2022 in the case known as "sending youth t o hotbeds of tension". He was released the same year. The case implicates security officials and politicians. Source: EN - Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
