Strengthening cooperation between Tunisia and Qatar in the social sphere was the focus of a meeting on Thursday in New York between Social Affairs Minister Malek Ezzahi and Qatar's Minister for Social Development and the Family Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad.
The meeting held in the margins of the 16th session of the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on Rights of Persons with Disabilities (COSP16) in New York, shed light on cooperation in the fields of special education and disability.
The Minister of Social Affairs reviewed the main activities of the International Centre for the Advancement of People with Disabilities and the various special education centres in Tunisia for people with disabilities.
He extended the invitation to the Qatari Minister to visit this centre to find out about the services provided for people with disabilities.
The Qatari minister voiced her hope to see Tunisia and Qatar sign a partnership agreement in the social field and for the care of people with disabilities.
