Means of strengthening the partnership and cooperation between Tunisia and Iraq on the one hand, and between Tunisia and Italy on the other, were the focus of talks held on Thursday in New York by Social Affairs Minister Malek Ezzahi.
The Minister spoke with his Iraqi counterpart Ahmad Al-Asadi and with Italian Minister for Disabilities Alessandra Locatelli, in the margins of the 16th Session of the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (COSP16).
Ezzahi extended the Iraqi and Italian Ministers invitations to visit the International Centre for the Advancement of People with Disabilities in Gammarth.
In turn, The Italian Minister invited the Minister for Social Affairs to visit Italy to learn about the Italian experience in promoting disabled people.
Ezzahi reviewed the historic relations between Tunisia and Iraq in terms of social security, calling for the need to unite visions and exchange experiences in areas linked to social protection and people with disabilities.
He also stressed the importance of strengthening the partnership between Tunisia and Italy in the fields of social promotion and social security.
The Italian Minister noted the importance of exchanging visits and expertise in the field of social promotion and disability, expressing her willingness to establish cooperative relations between Tunisia and Italy in the field of promoting people with disabilities.
