TUNIS: Espérance Sportive de Tunis and South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns have secured their berths for the FIFA Club World Cup, to be held in 2025 in the United States, following the second leg of the African Champions League semi-final, played on Friday in Pretoria. According to the Confederation of African Football, Espérance de Tunis and Sundowns have completed the list of African qualifiers for the 2025 Club World Cup, becoming the third and fourth CAF teams to book their tickets, alongside Egypt's Al Ahly and Wydad Casablanca. With a 2-0 aggregate victory over Mamelodi Sundowns, Espérance de Tunis have advanced to the CAF Champions League final, to take on Al Ahly. Espérance's qualification for the final books them a ticket to the Club World Cup, to be held in June and July 2025. The new format of the FIFA Club World Cup aims to determine a legitimate world champion by bringing together elite teams from each confederation in a summer tournament.
