The Delegation of the European Union in Tunisia is organising the European Film Festival on November 23-30, 2023, with a varied selection of over 20 films on various themes to be screened in four towns: Tunis, Kef, Menzel Bourguiba (Bizerte) and Jammel (Monastir), according to a EU Delegation in Tunisia press release. There will also be screenings and debates in the following cinemas: ABC, Ciné-théStre le Rio, Cinémadart (Tunis), Cinéma Le Métropole (Menzel Bourguiba), the ThéStre de Poche in Kef and the Founoun centre in Jammel. After a decade's absence (last edition in 2014), the festival dedicated to European films is making a comeback with the participation of several cultural centres and institutes from European Union countries, including Spain, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Croatia, Germany and others. Organised with the support of Euro Film Fest and the European Film Festival, the European Film Festival will open on November 22 at Cinéma dart with the Spanish feature film 'El Olivo' (The Olive Tree, 2016) by Iciar Bollain, a story of love and hate.
