Tunis: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Tunisians Abroad, Nabil Ammar, Wednesday, called on heads of a number of diplomatic missions to increase initiatives at the diplomatic and media levels in countries of accreditation as well as within regional and international organizations, in order to reiterate Tunisia's clear positions on various current issues. During a videoconference, the foreign minister emphasized "the key pillars of the Tunisian diplomacy, particularly with regard to the independence of Tunisia's decision-making, defending national sovereignty and consolidating relations with partners within the framework of mutual respect, non-interference in each other's internal affairs and the principle of reciprocity between states, reads a statement of the Foreign Affairs Ministry on Wednesday. The videoconference also focused on increasing coordination with Tunisia's partners in order to meet global challenges, namely, irregular migration and climate change. The Minister of Foreign Affairs urged the various diplomatic missions to protect the interests of Tunisian expatriates, defend their rights and provide them with all necessary assistance they might need during their stay overseas. The regular meeting with the heads of diplomatic and permanent missions made it possible to exchange views on the latest developments, regarding the activities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government action as well as the development of bilateral relations and multilateral cooperation with Tunisia's partners.
