Khaled Ben Abdelhafidh, candidate for Redeyef-El Mahata in the Redeyef delegation (Gafsa governorate), presented on Sunday the outlines of his electoral programme for the December 24 local elections. His ideas focus on providing more specialist doctors for the local hospital and setting up new services such as paediatrics, regularising land ownership, making better use of the industrial estate for the benefit of the region's inhabitants and allowing the drilling of wells for irrigation. He also promised to help solve the problem of the lack of drinking water, speed up the construction of a sewage treatment plant and new sports facilities, and improve public transport in his area. For his part, Sofiène Khelifi, the candidate for Redeyef-South, is proposing a programme that focuses in particular on restarting stalled projects, making good use of the industrial zone and encouraging private investment in his region. Other priorities mentioned by the candidate include consolidating infrastructure, extending t he public lighting network, supporting farmers and building new schools in his imada.
