Generative AI key for businesses today, says TABC

Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) is key for businesses today as it saves time and increases productivity", Vice-president of Tunisia-Africa Business Council (TABC) Mondher Khanfir said Saturday. Generative AI is the latest advance in the use of artificial neural networks, he told TAP agency on the fringes of a conference debate held Saturday in Tunis on "GAI for Prospecting and Developing Trade in Africa". "It's a machine that can process data and think like a human being", Khanfir said. There is need to mainstream this practice in business management to save time and speed up the presence of Tunisian economic operators in Africa. "Market researches, which used to take 6 months, can now be conducted in three minutes when using GAI", he said. Vice-President of the African Pharmaceutical Distribution Association (APDA) and CEO of Cogepha (Comptoir général pharmaceutique) Razi Miliani said the GAI is a new technological revolution comparable to the printing revolution or the industrial revolution, b ut its impact could be even greater, since it will destroy many jobs. "This new technology will in fact make a number of jobs disappear since many tasks can now be carried out by the machine", he added. Miliani said this technology is full of opportunities but also poses a number of threats such as cyber-attacks, thus the need to think together (public and private sectors) about ways to tap into it with the minimum possible damage. "With Generative Artifical Intelliogence, it is possible to develop a marketing strategy, compare documents, analyse photos and carry out many other tasks in just few minutes", he said. "Today, I can take photos of my warehouse and receive a complete analysis and recommendations in just a few clicks" .... "One day GAI work is equivalent to 50 days of physical work."
