I Watch press release on the issue of the recovery of stolen assets "proves the pure political nature of the agenda of this organisation, unrelated to the legitimate right of the Tunisian People to recover those assets," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Friday said in a press release.
"This Communiqué puts into evidence the depraved intention and obliviousness, be it fake or real, of judicial and diplomatic procedures.
"It also undermines the credibility of the authors of this statement, as well as the foreign parties that back these organisations up and continue to finance and support them by all means," the ministry added.
"This statement will certainly not impact the authorities, nor will it affect their determination to continue their actions in all areas, in conformity with the aspirations clearly expressed by Tunisians."
I Watch published Thursday a statement in which it blamed the State for the "bitter" failure to recover looted funds.
"This is due to the absence of a clear diplomatic policy to address this issue which falls within the prerogatives of the President of the Republic after taking office in 2019, and especially after July 25, 2021", the press release further reads.
Nabil Ammar, I Watch said, "is the first responsible for the issue in his capacity as Foreign Minister."
