International Diplomatic Academy of Tunis inaugurated

The International Diplomatic Academy of Tunis was inaugurated, on Monday, during a ceremony chaired by President of the Republic Kais Saied and was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Nabil Ammar and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi. Funded by the Chinese government, the diplomatic academy was established under government decree No. 630 of 2019 which sets its prerogatives as well as its administrative and financial organization. Taking the floor during the inauguration ceremony, Nabil Ammar underscored that International Diplomatic Academy of Tunis was is the fruit of a long process of training Tunisian diplomats, offered by the former diplomatic institute since 1997. The foreign Minister welcomed China's contribution to this Academy whose establishment coincides with the 60th Anniversary of the Tunisian-Chinese Diplomatic Relations since January 10, 1964. Ammar indicated that this academy represents another achievement which will help promote the performance of Tunisia's diplomacy and boost Tunisian- Chinese cooperation in all areas. The Chinese Foreign Minister is visiting Tunisia from January 14 to 16, accompanied by representatives of the Chinese government, the vice president of the China International Cooperation Agency and senior Chinese officials.
