The death of a sub-Saharan migrant has prompted the Sfax Court of First Instance to open an investigation into premeditated murder.

The body of the migrant, which showed signs of violence, was discovered on Wednesday on the beach of the El Amra delegation.

The public prosecutor and spokesperson for the Sfax 1 Court of First Instance, Faouzi Masmoudi, said investigations were underway to establish the circumstances of the crime and identify those responsible.

The body has been transferred to the forensic department of Habib Bourguiba University Hospital to determine the cause of death, according to the same source.
