Japan-North Africa University Summit, opportunity of cooperation in science and technology (Boukthir)

Tunis: The Japan-North Africa University Summit is an ideal opportunity for interaction and exchange among the scientific communities of North Africa (Algeria, Morocco, Egypt), Japan and Nigeria to bolster cooperation in science and technology and achieve sustainable development goals, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Moncef Boukthir said Wednesday at the opening of the 4th session of this summit. This is a large-scale event which showcases the long-standing ties and the spirit of collaboration among researchers and academics participating in the summit, the minister said. "Over the years, the Japan-North Africa University Summit has established itself as a platform for partnership and exchange of knowledge that has significantly contributed to attaining sustainable development goals," he added. Tunisia had previously hosted the three previous sessions of this summit. Boukthir commended the distinguished partnership between Tunisia and Japan in areas related to science, technology, and sustainable development. He reviewed the various mechanisms intended to strengthen cooperation, including student exchanges, technical and financial cooperation, conferences, joint research projects, and South-South cooperation.
