NAIROBI— The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops engaged and killed four Al-Shabaab militants at Sarira, Boni Forest in Lamu County.

According to a statement by KDF, the militants were trying to cross the common border into Kenya during the early Saturday morning encounter.

Others in the group are said to have escaped with multiple injuries to the neighbouring Country.

No injuries were recorded on KDF troops during the 7:30am encounter.

The statement further says KDF troops under Operation Amani Boni, have intensified patrols in the locality and will continue, along with other security agencies and support from local residents, to pacify the area in a bid to get rid of Al-Shabaab terrorists.
