A training workshop aimed at building the competences of 20 African economic journalists in land governance and trade in Africa, was organised on Monday at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia). This workshop is organised by the African Land Policy Centre and the International Development Law Organisation (IDLO) to mark the 5th edition of the Conference on Land Policy in Africa (CLPA), held on November 21-24 under the theme: "Promoting Sustainable Land Governance in Africa for Accelerating Implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area agreement (AfCFTA)." This workshop further aims to raise awareness and hone the skills of African business journalists in dealing with issues such as land governance policies in Africa, intra-African trade, women's land rights and the AfCFTA. This workshop will be crowned with the creation of a network of economic journlaists advocating inclusive land governance and African trade. It will also help the journalists improve the quality of their r eports on all issues related to financial governance in Africa. The CLPA is organised biennially by the African Land Policy Centre, a joint initiative of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), the African Union Commission (AUC), and the African Development Bank.
