The first two days of campaigning for the local elections in Gafsa governorate were marked by a slow pace and low activity. 244 candidates spread across 82 constituencies in 13 delegations will be campaigning for 20 days. Only one activity was recorded in the Redayef delegation during the first day of campaigning, said Mohamed Bousada, coordinator of the local electoral authority (IRIE). However, the IRIE official indicated that the pace of activity is expected to increase in the coming days, pointing out that the campaign is self-financed. 244 candidates, including 23 women, are standing in the local elections in the governorate of Gafsa. Of these candidates, 54 are with disabilities, including 7 women, who will be selected by sortition. Source: Agence Tunis Afrique Presse
