Candidate No. 3 for the local council elections of December 24 in the Helya 2 constituency in the Monastir delegation Ikbel Hizem on Saturday launched her election campaign under the slogan "Let's change for the better," with the display of her election programme and direct exchanges with voters. The candidate pledges to speed up the updating of the town planning and traffic schemes to relieve congestion in the town, to set up a security post in the Helya 2 district to protect neighbourhoods and the environment of educational establishments, and to develop a waste collection and recycling system. She will also endeavour to set up a social centre to take care of the elderly, people without support and women who are victims of violence in Monastir. The candidate further promises to encourage private investment in promising fields in order to improve employment for young people, particularly university graduates and people with disabilities, and to monitor public projects, particularly those that are pending , such as the construction of a road between Sidi Nasr and El Omrane and the upgrading of the Corniche coastline without touching the Ribat of Monastir. The establishment of a basic health centre, a service centre, a municipal market, an association centre and cultural and sports facilities for young people, women and families are also on the candidate's agenda.
