The number of beneficiaries of the elderly foster care programme rose to 366 in February, 82% of whom are women, compared to 308 beneficiaries in 2023. The funds allocated for the implementation of this programme have been increased to TND 1,458,000 in 2024, from TND 840,000 in 2023, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Family, Women, Children and the Elderly on Tuesday. The ministry provides a monthly allowance of TND 350 to each family that cares for an elderly person over the age of 60.
