Accra: Olam Agri, a leading global food and agribusiness, has appointed Baibhav Biswas, as Country Head in Ghana. Mr. Biswas will oversee Olam Agri Ghana's operations and drive its continued growth and success. Mr. Biswas brings a wealth of expertise to his new role, having held various leadership positions within Olam Agri and other organisations for over three decades, a press release issued to the Ghana News Agency, said Tuesday. 'His extensive experience in international markets, particularly in Africa, has equipped him with a deep understanding of the local business landscape and the challenges and opportunities it presents,' it said Before his appointment, Biswas served as the Business Head of Olam Agri's Grains business in Ghana, where he successfully led the company's wheat milling business. Under his leadership, Olam Agri's grain business has become a market leader, commanding a significant share and expanding its operations in neighboring countries. As Country Head, Mr. Biswas will oversee all aspects of Olam Agri's business in Ghana, including its rice and grain businesses, through strategy development, operations management, and stakeholder engagement. He will also be responsible for strengthening the company's position in the market, driving innovation, and contributing to the sustainable development of the local agriculture sector. Mr Biswas takes over from Amit Agrawal, who has led the organisation for over 15 years.
