Prime Minister Ahmed Hachani chaired a ministerial working session on Monday at the Government Palace in the Kasbah on the motorway project linking Bousalem to the Algerian border. The meeting was attended by Minister of the Interior, Kamel Feki, Minister of Finance, Sihem Boughdiri Nemsia, Minister of the Economy and Planning, Feryel Ouergui Sebei, Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries, Abdelmonem Belati, Minister of Public Works and Housing, Sara Zaafrani Zanzari, Minister of State Property and Land Affairs, Mohamed Rakik, and Governor of Jendouba, Samir Kouka. Minister of Public Works and Housing, Sara Zaafrani Zanzari, made a presentation on the financial feasibility study of the motorway and the possible hypotheses for the implementation of this important project, according to a statement from the Prime Ministry. The meeting decided to carry out the works through a public procurement contract with co-financing from international financial institutions and to abandon the decision to re sort to a public-private partnership, which was approved at the ministerial working session on March 4, 2022. The Prime Minister stressed the strategic dimension of this project as part of the Maghreb-Africa motorway and as an economic corridor, as well as its inclusion in the framework of a comprehensive and innovative development vision to create economic dynamism in Jendouba and the border areas, in addition to developing trade with Algeria.
