Rapper Guru wins University of Ghana SRC Presidential election

Ghanaian rapper Maradona Adjei Yeboah, popularly known as 'Guru,' has won the Students' Representative Council (SRC) Presidential elections of the University of Ghana. The multiple-award-winning rapper, together with his vice, Jeffery Adu Yebooah, polled 9,455 votes, which represents 50.7% of the total votes cast, to emerge victorious in highly contested elections. Their closest contenders, Emmanuel Owusu Amponsah and Lawrence Edinam Egeh, polled 9455 votes, which represents 35.6% of the total votes cast. The 'Lapaz Toyota' hitmaker was initially disqualified from the race after being deem not eligible to run for SRC President but was upon appeal reinstated by the Vice Dean. Guru, together with his newly elected executives, would steer the affairs of the SRC for the 2024/25 academic year. Source: Ghana News Agency
