President of the committee on rules of procedure and election and parliamentary laws at the Assembly of People's Representatives Mohamed Ahmed said the amendment of Article 141 of rules of procedure on the presence of media in plenary sessions was tabled to the bureau of the parliament. A community radio asked the committee to attend plenary sessions, the MP told TAP on Monday. The commission will reconsider the item in relation to allowing this type of radio stations to attend parliamentary proceedings, as part of openness on civil society, he added. Under Article 141, "Public, private, and foreign media institutions duly licensed by the state shall cover, in accordance with the procedures and arrangements specified by the Assembly Bureau, all activities of the Assembly upon request and subsequent receipt of an accreditation card."
